The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) sponsors several annual awards programs that allow students and educators to become more involved and engaged in the American Revolutionary period. These awards encourage civic responsibility and duty, creative and effective classroom teaching practices, and a deeper understanding of the complicated issues surrounding the war for American Independence. These youth programs begin at the local SAR chapter level and move up to the society and national level during each annual competition, culminating at the annual SAR Congress.

Submission Deadlines: Message to Students, Parents, and Educators
All contest submissions are sent first to your Local Chapter → then Chapter-winning submissions are sent to the State Chapter → then State-winning submissions are sent by the State Chapter to National Headquarters.
Submissions are due to the Local Chapters approximately two months prior to the State-Winner due dates for State Chapters listed below; however, Local Chapter dates may vary. To submit your entry, you MUST contact your Local Chapter to obtain your Local Chapter’s due date.
