Announcement from the Registrar General: Application Fee and National Dues Waived for Eligible C.A.R. Members

Dear Compatriots,

I am pleased to announce a new membership initiative approved by the Sons of the American Revolution at the 2026 Annual Congress.

Effective August 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the NSSAR Application Fee and National Annual Dues will be waived for eligible male members of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) who apply for membership in the Sons of the American Revolution.

To qualify, an applicant must:

· Be an approved male member of the Children of the American Revolution;

· Be 22 years of age or younger;

· Be in good standing with the C.A.R. at the time his SAR application is submitted; and

· Submit his application to the National Society Sons of the American Revolution between August 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.

This initiative provides an exceptional opportunity to encourage young men who already share our commitment to preserving the legacy of the American Revolution to continue that service as members of the SAR.

State Societies and Chapters are encouraged to reach out to their local and state C.A.R. Societies, identify eligible members, and assist them in preparing and submitting their SAR applications during this special period.

Our relationship with the Children of the American Revolution is an important part of the future of the SAR. I hope every Society and Chapter will take advantage of this opportunity to welcome the next generation of Compatriots.
