SAR names Phil Bloyd as Executive Director
LOUISVILLE, KY (November 19, 2025) — The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), one of the nation’s leading organizations in Revolutionary War education and genealogical research, is pleased to announce that Phil Bloyd will serve as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective immediately. He has served as the Executive Director of the SAR Foundation since 2020 and will continue to occupy that role, as well. Before the SAR, Bloyd fundraised for a number of non-profits in Louisville including The Boy Scouts of America, The University of Louisville Foundation, and the Norton Healthcare Foundation.

The mission of the SAR is more important than ever, and I look forward to working with our dedicated members, volunteers, and partners to advance our shared commitment to preserving and promoting America’s founding ideals especially as we approach the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.”, said Bloyd.
