Montana SAR Involvement with Revolutionary War Television Series Premiere

Author: O M

At the beginning of the Revolutionary War in 1775, the Continental Congress decreed that Negroes would not be allowed to enlist in the Continental Army. By the end of the war, General Washington had thousands of African-American troops serving in mostly integrated units, including several all-black companies under his command. What happened between these two points in time constitutes one of the most exciting and inspiring stories of American history that has rarely been told!

Mr. Larry H. Mylnechuk, President of the Liberty Tree SAR Chapter in Missoula, Montana, has been researching American history for over forty years. He has worked with many noted scholars and most recently served as a research consultant for the Fox Television series “Legends and Lies: The Patriots.” The episode “Forgotten Heroes” will premiere on the Fox network on Sunday, 11 December 2016.
