Artifacts approved for Repatriation or Sale by Auction

In 2014 the SAR Museum Board reviewed all items belonging to the Sons of the American Revolution to determine what needed to be transferred (to Education Outreach, Library Archives, or Finance Director for office use), what needed to be retained in our artifact collection, and what should be deaccessed and sold.  At the SAR Trustee meeting in March 2014, the recommendations were approved.  During the last four years efforts have been made to repatriate any deaccessed items that the donors or heirs wanted returned.  The closing date for requests of repatriation was November 1, 2018.

Deaccessed items will be sold in an online auction to raise funds for future acquisitions for the SAR Education Center and Museum.  Once the sale details are approved by the SAR Museum Board and the SAR Executive Committee, the sale date and details will be advertised to all SAR members and the public in the SAR Magazine and on this website.
