Compatriot Tim Berly Grave Marking

Event Location

Event Date & Time

You’re invited to attend a very special compatriot graveside service for our Society’s dear friend and leader, Tim Berly.

The honor ceremony will be held beginning at 10:30am at Raleigh Memorial Park Cemetery, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612. Tim’s site is located in the “Garden of the Four Prophets” part of the cemetery, just underneath the Veterans Section. You will see the tent and chairs. Please park on the side of the cemetery road so other cars can pass.

Tim already has a SAR marker at his headstone. Our program will focus on honoring Tim’s service to our Society, speeches from his sister, Patti, and tributes from SAR leaders.

Here is what we are planning:

  1. Color Guard presentation and posting of flags
  2. Highlights of Tim’s life
  3. Small speeches of remembrance from family and friends
  4. “Live” wreath formal presentation
  5. Toasting Tim
  6. Musket salute
  7. Taps
  8. Closing

Then, we can all travel together to O’Malley’s Irish Pub 5228 Hollyridge Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612 for fellowship, laughter and story telling, just as Tim would want!

Please set this date on your schedule to attend, honor Tim’s life, and then a social and fun lunch following the service.

To RSVP, please email Jay Joyce at jay@mecklenburgsar.org. Let’s all join together and let Tim know that his SAR friends are there to honor his life.
