The SAR Museum Board is established by SAR Bylaw, No. 19, Section 1 (h).  It states:

Museum Board. The purpose of the Museum Board shall be to collect, preserve, conserve, manage, interpret and exhibit articles of the historical period of the American Revolution (1763-1801). In accomplishing this purpose, the National Society’s Headquarters shall function as the primary resource to both the Society’s membership and the general public for education on the American Revolution primarily through storied standing and temporary exhibitions.

In 2019, the Museum Board established an Artifact Donor Program to increase the scope and quality of the SAR Museum Collection.  Through donor’s generosity the Artifact Donor Program has resulted in the accession of over 350 historical artifacts.  For compatriots wishing to donate or fund the purchase of an artifact for the SAR Museum Collection, please view a list of available curated artifacts.
