The Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical
Oration Contest
Previous National Winners

In 1993 the name of this oratorical contest was changed.   For forty-four years it carried the name Douglass G. High.  The new name in perpetuity is JOSEPH S. RUMBAUGH HISTORICAL ORATION CONTEST.  To date twenty State Societies have won the National Contest.  Virginia and Ohio lead with 7; Florida, 6; Georgia, 5; Texas, Maryland 4; Tennessee, and California 3; Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, and North Carolina, 2; Delaware with 2.  The first place winners are:
