First Place: Eagle Scout John R. Rassmussen
The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Eagle
Scout, Arthur M. & Bordena King Scholarship of $8,000.00 was awarded to Eagle
Scout John R. Rassmussen sponsored by the Minnesota Society. Eagle
Scout Rassmussen is pictured being congratulated by Charlie A. Newcomer, NSSAR
Eagle Scout Program Chairman accompanied by Dr. Rex Legler who assisted in the
presentation of his award.
John has over 11 years in Scouting, including Cub Scouts, Boy
Scouts and Venturing. He has earned 105 merit badges including American
Heritage, Genealogy, and Law and has 14 palms. Included among his many
scouting awards are the Viking Council Outstanding Eagle, William T. Hornaday
Silver/Bronze medal, National Camping Awards for six years, the U.S. Heritage award,
and The Order of the Arrow Brotherhood honor. John is president of his
Hutchinson High School class, an honor student, student council member, and on the
school's varsity football and tennis teams.

First Runner-up: Eagle Scout Jason Matthew Fochtman, sponsored by the Texas State Society
The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Eagle
Scout, Arthur M. & Bordena King Scholarship of $4,000.00 for First Runner-up was
awarded to Eagle Scout Jason Matthew Fochtman the TXSSAR entry into the National
Society's competition after having won the Texas State Society's contest.
Second Runner-up: Eagle Scout Brandon James Hopkins, sponsored by the Utah Society
The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Eagle
Scout, Arthur M. & Bordena King Scholarship of $2,000.00 for Second Runner-up was
awarded to Eagle Scout Brandon James Hopkins the UTSSAR entry into the National
Society's competition after having won the Utah State Society's contest.
