About 100 Compatriots, ladies of the DAR, the C.A.R., wives, spouses and significant others from five state

societies attended a special grave marking ceremony at Montpelier, the home of President James Madison

in Orange, Virginia.  It was the first time the SAR has formally recognized Madison's service as a patriot during

the Revolutionary War. Representing West Virginia were WVSSAR National Trustee Richard Brockway,

WVSSAR Secretary-Treasurer John Sauer and his wife, Joanne; and WVSSAR Webmaster Bob and Helen Bowen.
