Fifty Compatriots and guests gathered at the quaint Graves Mountain Lodge in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Syria, Virginia on Saturday, April 26, for the annual joint meeting of SAR Chapters in the northwestern quadrant of the Old Dominion. The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter was the host.. Other Chapters in attendance were Col. Fielding Lewis, Col. James Wood, Jr., Col. William Grayson, Gen. Dan Morgan, Fairfax Resolves, Fort Harrison, Thomas Jefferson and Williamsburg. Former VASSAR President Larry McKinley was the principal speaker. VASSAR President Art Batten briefed on the State Society, and Chapter Presidents told about what their Chapters have done in 2008 and what they plan to do for the remainder of the year.

A family-style meal and friendly conversation prevailed during the luncheon. A joint Chapter Color Guard under the command of Francis Lay posted the Colors.
