More than 50 compatriots and their wives gathered at the Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria for a program that included the installation of the George Washington Chapter's 2008 officers, The presentation of two Silver Good Citizenship Medals, one Gold Good Citizenship Medal, and a lecture on Thomas Jefferson.

(L-R) VASSAR President Joe Dooley conducted the meeting. Joseph T. Kelliher, Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission spoke on the history of his agency and its many responsibilities. David N . Mayer, Professor of Law at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, spoke about "Thomas Jefferson, Revolutionary".

President Dooley and President General Bruce Wilcox presented the SAR Gold Good Citizenship Medal to James C. Rees, IV, Executive Director of the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens.

SAR Silver Good Citizenship Medals were presented to FERC Chairman Joseph Kelliher and Professor David Mayer, Ph.D.
