The Valentine Sevier Chapter was formally chartered on June 29, 1996.
 
        The Valentine Sevier Chapter was originally organized in August 1995 at the (old) Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Genealogy Room when officers were elected. In March 1995 a steering committee meeting had initially been held at the same place. There prospects were given papers and guidance. Compatriots Larry McClanahan, Russell Campbell, and Knox Trigg from the Andrew Jackson Chapter were the catalysts for the organization. Longtime Clarksville Compatriots William Bailey Allen, Cleo Hogan and John Thweatt participated in the organizational activities, and Compatriot Thweatt was elected Charter president.
 
        This young chapter currently has approximately twenty-five members. The chapter has several members who have been working toward preserving the records of additional Patriots. One Compatriot has eight supplementals.
