During the 121st Congress in Winston-Salem, North Carolina many topics of discussion were covered and several actions were taken. One of the discussions taken up was a Bylaw change that had been unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees at the Spring Leadership meeting. The discussions covered the various sections of the Bylaws relating to the Youth Registrant program.

State Societies and Chapters who have annual gross receipts less than $50,000 must file IRS Form 990-N each year by the 15th of the 5th month following the last day of their fiscal year.  See the instructions in the SAR  Handbook, located at www.sar.org

Progress on the New Library and Headquarters

Being a member of the NSSAR right now is an exciting prospect.  The Society is in the process of building a new Genealogy Library, and moving our Headquarters to the Museum District in the heart of downtown Louisville, Ky.   We have planned a series of articles and videos to keep you informed about the stages of construction as continuing progress is made on the new facility.

Changes to National Dues and Fees (2009)

Recent Changes to National Fees and Dues Structure

 

1. FEES:

  • Membership Application. Each new member application fee will increase from $60 to $80 on applications received after January 1, 2010.
  • Membership Family Plan. Family Plan applications received after January 1, 2010 will cost $80 for the first application and $30 for each additional application in the same family.

2. DUES:

  • National Dues. Effective dues year 2010, Regular Membership dues increase to $30.
