Poster Contest
The Pennsylvania State Society and the Philadelphia-Continental Chapter participate in the Americanism Elementary School Poster Contest. The contest is for 4th or 5th grade students, depending on which grade teaches the American Revolution. A different topic is selected each Spring for the following school year. A winner from each school competes at the Chapter level and the Chapter winner competes at the state level. The State Society will select a winner to compete at the National level. PASSAR awards the state winner a $50 savings bond and the Chapter awards a prize to the chapter winner. In 2005, the 2nd place winner for the National award was from the Philadelphia area.
