Dear Ladies,

It was with great pride that I accepted the honor of becoming the fourth president of the National Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the American Revolution (NLASAR). Originally founded as the California Ladies Auxiliary, it has become entirely a national organization and soon to be international in scope. The NLASAR is comprised of sixteen state societies, along with numerous ladies from states that wish to be national members only.

The Auxiliary is an energetic supporter of local chapters, state societies, and the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR). On the national level, the Auxiliary has been a faithful supporter of the Center for Advancing America’s Heritage (CAAH). The news at the 119th Congress that the first phase of construction on the new Center, located on West Main Street in Louisville, Kentucky, would be the library was greeted enthusiastically. In the early years, it was decided that the ladies would set a goal of raising funds to purchase tables and chairs for The Center’s library, and now that is about to become a reality. With approximately $80,000 raised to date, we now feel it may be feasible to expand our original goals of support.

I would be remiss by not inviting interested ladies to join our auxiliary. The Auxiliary is a wonderful organization where you can build friendship throughout the United States and soon the France Society. Membership in the Auxiliary is open to the wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, and other female relatives of SAR members. So, please, visit our website at www.sar.org/nlasar to learn more about us.

And, remember – I welcome all inquiries about our great organization!

Sincerely,

Evelyn L. Sympson
