Beginning with the Fall 2007 issue of the magazine, Kentucky Society Compatriot
Stephen M. Vest will assume the position of Editor which has been held by Win
Williams since 1978. When Win announced his retirement, a search for
his successor was conducted by the Communications Committee. The final
selection was recently made by the Executive Committee.
Steve has been a member of the SAR for 21 years and has served as President of
the LT Robert Mosely Chapter, KYSSAR. He is President of Vested Interest
Publications (VIP) which publishes the Kentucky Monthly - an award-winning,
contemporary, general interest magazine about Kentucky and Kentuckians.
It has subscribers in all 120 Kentucky counties and 21 other states.
Topics range from education and history to culture.
Prior to founding VIP, Steve was the News Editor for The Blood-Horse,
an international thoroughbred magazine. He previously was a reporter,
photographer, and editor for numerous newspapers, winning both state and national
awards. He and his wife, Kay, reside in Frankfort, Kentucky with their
children.
He is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a BA Degree in Journalism
and Communications. He currently is pursuing a Master's Degree from
Murray State University, and maintains membership in a variety of lineage organizations,
including Sons of Union Veterans and Sons of Confederate Veterans.
