Goals: Education
Awards and Contests
The Delaware Society SAR and its chapters provide awards and contests to encourage
youth to develop their leadership abilities and to excel in making articulate
and compelling presentations on the founding of the United States.
We provide modest awards at the chapter and state level.
At the national level awards of up to $8,000 are presented to the winners.

Public Presentations
We educate the public about the events and philosophical bases
of the American Revolution and the Constitution by
- providing youth and civic groups with speakers
- transcribing and publishing historic records
- writing and publishing historical articles
- publishing this Web site
- placing commemorative markers at historic sites (such as the Grand Opera House in Wilmington)
and in cemeteries (such as Immanuel Church in New Castle and Old Swedes Church in Wilmington)
Delaware Society members speak on such topics such as
We support the state of Delaware's Delaware youth history camp.
Genealogical Assistance
The Delaware Society helps people locate and evaluate genealogical records.
