What is the Delaware Society?

The Delaware Society was founded on January 29, 1890. It is one of the first State Societies to organize in the Sons of the American Revolution. Our first State President was Thomas Bayard, who served as the United States Secretary of State from 1885 to 1889. The Delaware Society has three chapters and an active membership of approximately 300 members. One of every 1,000 men in Delaware is an SAR member. That is the highest proportion of membership for any State Society.
