This award to an individual was authorized in 1996.  The State Society submits the name along with a short story of the individual's work with veterans which is judged by the Veterans Committee.  The award is given each year in recognition to an outstanding SAR Veterans Volunteer.  The deadline for nominations for this award is February 1.  The winner is selected at the Spring Trustee meeting in Louisville, KY.
