Create and Train Your Color Guard Unit

Manning    Your    Color    Guard

The second most difficult problem you will have will be that of consistently manning your Color Guard.  At major S.A.R. events, such as State meetings or our annual National Congress there are usually enough Compatriots available and willing to volunteer for Color Guard duty.  But for civic events such as local parades where a considerable amount of marching is going to be required, it is advantageous to recruit a local R.O.T.C. unit to man your Color Guard.   The R.O.T.C. is generally very willing to cooperate and they receive internal credits for participating and quite frankly, the young men and women make for a better military appearance and are superior marchers to us.  Also the cadets/midshipmen enjoy this kind of unusual duty.
