Foot   Gear

Obtaining authentic looking foot gear can be very expensive, costing hundreds of dollars and since 18th century shoes or boots were neither left or right, breaking them in is an experience one would rather miss.  We have seen buckles attached in various ways, however, generally they do not conceal the 20th century appearance of the foot gear to which they have been added.  Solution -- consider wearing gaiters.  They add to the overall appearance of your uniform, looking very military and they are very inexpensive.  Since they are made of black canvas, maintenance is quite minimal.
