Meet A Continental Soldier Program

Overview: This is a living history classroom presentation whereby an
SAR member dressed in a colonial, Continental uniform visits a classroom to
describe the hardships and dangers of being a soldier in the Revolutionary
war. The soldier demonstrates arms and equipment that were carried by a
Continental soldier. The soldier also describes the problem of disease,
wounds, infection, and the lack of sanitation and clean food.
Target Audience: Upper primary grades through high school.
Also suitable for some community groups, DAR meetings, and historical gatherings.
Cost: Free
Tips: This program is ideal for color guardsmen who already have uniforms
and equipment associated with the Revolutionary war. Find out all you can
about your Patriot ancestor and what they did in the Revolution.
