Reenactor Group Reporting

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution established a Committee to create a working relationship with Reenactor headquarters beginning with the Continental Line.  Two members of the committee are CL reenactors.   A proposal based on the mission statement above was presented to the Annual General Meeting of the Continental Line on 2 Feb 02.  Mr James Garner, a former President of the Continental Line, and Mr Vincent Hawkins were unanimously approved by that Board to be their liaison to the NSSAR.

A pilot project designed to introduce units of the Continental Line to geographically co-located SAR chapters is underway.  We seek to encourage SAR State Societies and Chapters to establish or renew contacts with the Reenactor community.   The Committee has written and will soon mail a pamphlet, "Guide to Co-Sponsored Events", outlining ways the two parties can cooperate to achieve common goals.

The Committee is also working to define what recognition the NSSAR can offer and how the reenactor/living history community can nominate candidates for awards.

If you are involved in a reenactment group and would like to have their website reviewed and possibly listed here, please complete the form below.  It will be sent to our Reenactors Committee for review.
