Membership Application

The California Ladies Auxiliary is in its 20th year. We have over 300 members most of whom are in California and the rest from other states. A good number of our members are active in heritage societies such as Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, etc. We meet only when the men meet, in conjunction with their Spring and Fall meetings.

Our dues are $5.00 a year, and life memberships are available at a one-time cost of $100.00. We pay the state society one dollar a year per member to help defray the cost of the state newsletters which are sent to Auxiliary members if they so designate.

We have two fund raisers per year which we mail with membership renewal letters. Raffle tickets are included so that the general membership can participate in the drawing at the State Spring Meeting. The items offered range from a television, briefcase, baskets of wine, paintings and etc. We offer several prizes each meeting and we have found it to be a very successful raffle fund raiser. The other fund raiser is at the Fall State meeting, where we raffle items above mentioned, usually on Saturday night.

Our state meetings are on a Friday and Saturday. On Friday there is generally a Ladies Tour, shopping, or etc. We have a business meeting on Saturday morning which is open to all women who attend the State Meetings. We join the men for lunch. We have free time on Saturday afternoon to do work shops, a tour, etc.

Our business meeting agenda consists of a prayer, flag salute, reading of the minutes from the previous meeting, treasurer's report, discussion on the fund raiser for the meeting and suggestions for future fund raisers. Other business is also discussed.

The California Ladies Auxiliary has worked to build a special fund to help cover the cost of the California Reception and Hospitality Room at the future of 2008 Congress Convention. We continue to raise money for this purpose.
