The Palo Verde Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution was chartered on January 11, 1969. We serve the East Valley Communities of Ahwatukee, Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Sun Lakes, Tempe, and the southern portion of Scottsdale.
Two immediate past SAR National Society Officers, Surgeon General Dr. Dan Heller, MD, ans Librarian General J. Michael Jones, are members of our Palo Verde Chapter.
All SAR members, spouses,
prospective members and guests are welcome to attend our
chapter meetings. Meetings are held monthly from September to May. With the exception of our September dinner meeting, our meetings are
held on the second Saturday of the month at 8:30 AM at the Ranch House
Restaurant, located at 2155 S. Dobson Road in Mesa, Arizona, about two
blocks south of Baseline Road. We have interesting speakers each month
on varied topics. Some speakers in the past have informed us about the
workings of the Palo Verde Nuclear Energy Plant and the history of the
bagpipe. Some of our planned programs for this fall include the
“Toughest Sheriff in the Country”—Joe Arpaio and Christmas Carols by a
local high school choir.
