Reminder to SAR State Societies: 2010 Combined Federal Campaign

Reminder to SAR State Societies

Applications due Dec. 14, 2009
2010 Combined Federal Campaign

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is in the process of reapplying for inclusion in the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which is the largest and most successful annual workplace charity event.  State Societies returning the completed form to the NSSAR documenting the activities of their state and local chapters will share in the money raised from the Combined Federal Campaign.  Donations received will be equally divided among the NSSAR and the state societies that assist with the completion of this application.

This is an excellent opportunity to raise funds to support chapter activities.  The CFC requires a description of the activities benefiting the community and the number served, in addition to money spent.  These activities can include grave marking ceremonies, monument/wreath dedications, Eagle Scout awards, youth activities, ROTC/JROTC awards, Color Guard events, and other chapter activities.  The monetary amounts are not as important as activity descriptions.

NSSAR is identified with the CFC as “National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution” and bears the code number 22587 on payroll deduction or donation forms. The CFC will not accept incomplete or out-of-date information on their applications.  As a result each State Society will need to update their information and resubmit their form to NSSAR in order to be eligible for shared funds. Please do not include information on programs benefiting members. Thank you.
