Progress on the New Library and Headquarters Video 1

This is the first in a series of videos that show the progress being made on our new SAR Genealogy Library and Headquarters.  This video includes a brief introduction and history of the site where the new building is situated on and provides an aerial view of the street.

Topics also briefly covered are the 1937 Flood and 1890 Cyclone that caused damage in the area.

At the new site, the NSSAR's neighbors will include:

  • The Belle of Louisville
  • Kentucky Center for the Arts
  • Louisville Science Center
  • Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
  • Frazier International History Museum

The video also includes pictures from the August 25th dedication ceremony, the Conerstone Dedication Ceremony with the Grand Masonic Lodge of Kentucky, and the start of construction.  There is some good footage of the removal of the first floor and pouring of the new concrete floor in the basement.

Lots more info to come.  Be sure to check back often for more videos and the latest information
