990-N ALERT!

IRS Letter

This week it is absolutely critical that all chapters who have a December fiscal year end file their 990-N.  This filing is due by May 17.  See the instructions in the SAR Handbook, located at www.sar.org if you have not previously filed a 990-N.  They are located in Vol II, page 16 under the section "Internal Revenue Service Requirements."  File the 990-N at www.irs.gov/eo   

Please see the letter recently received at SAR headquarters for penalties involved for those chapters that fail to file the 990-N. 

If you do not know the "tax ID" for your chapter, please contact your state secretary or the accounting department at the SAR headquarters.
