|State Medal Of Distinguished Service Medal||The State Medal of Distinguished Service, authorized in 1998, is the highest Medal that can be awarded by a State Society President during each year of his term of office. It is presented to a Compatriot for distinguished service rendered to the State Society on the state level during a State Society’s President’s term of office. The Medal should be presented at the State Society annual meeting at the conclusion of the President’s term of office. The highest award presented to a member by the National Society. It is presented for distinguished service rendered to the SAR on the National level. Members are selected by the Minuteman Committee from submitted applications. The Committee is appointed by the President General from previous recipients of the award. It is presented during the Annual Congress to no more than six recipients per year. More information can be found in the SAR Handbook.

|DAR Finder Form (Word)||
Every year at the NSSAR National Congress the National Society presents the DAR/SAR Award to the DAR state society that recruits the most members for SAR during the calendar year. This is the form that is required to be submitted with applications to have them count towards the DAR/SAR award.
